and as Eliot Garfield in a scene from The Goodbye Girl in
NRACT's
History of the Theatre. He is the creator of (and half the
performing
cast of) Comedy Out of Context. Matthew was one-third
of the performing cast of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
(abridged) in the January and September 2007 joint productions
presented by the Idiots and
NRACT. Matthew discovered he
was an Idiot in 1997.

television
street reporter for such events as Artsplosure. She has appeared in
The MouseTrap, Noises Off, and NRACT’s productions

John
Vettel (Musical Director/Performer)
Brian
Piper (Performer)
Brian came from Minnesota to Raleigh to be a graduate student in the
Operations Research program at North Carolina State University, but
first he had make a four year stop at Oberlin College. During
this layover, he
majored in mathematics and theater (which is easily the most useful
liberal arts major). He's done a lot of theater, creative and
technical, but the damage was done when he discovered improv in
Minnesota. Since then he has been in Primitive Streak, a
long-form group from Oberlin College, and he interned with Stevie Ray's Improv Company in
Minneapolis. Brian discovered he was an Idiot
in 2007.
Katie
Vettel (Performer)
Katie, like a select few other people (someone would say unfortunate
people), has grown up around the Idiots. Her father discovered he was
an Idiot in 2000, and surely put his World's
Best Dad mug at risk by bringing Katie to Idiot workshops.
It wasn't long before a teenaged Katie joined the troupe full time,
forever making her mark as Peg of the AlleyKatz.
Katie has since moved out of Raleigh, but she keeps her improv chops
sharp performing with her new troupe, Port
City Players in Wilmington, NC, and will be appearing in an
upcoming production of The Producers.
But whenever we need her, or she just happens to be in town, she's on
our stage as the once and future Idiot.
Katie discovered she was an Idiot in 2003.
Debbie
West (House Manager / Light Tech)
Debbie is the backbone of the North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre (NRACT) working behind the scenes and behind the checkbook. She has greeted patrons of the Idiots with a smile and a joke before every Idiot performance at NRACT. She has appeared in a number of NRACT productions, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Harold and Maude (starring in the title role of Maude), The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. The Idiots will always be in debt to her for her assistance backstage with wardrobe and props during The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). She has officially dressed and undressed more Idiots than any other woman. Debbie has been associating with Idiots since 2001.
